I had a longer ride today than I anticipated. I wanted to ride about 30 or 40 miles, but couldn’t find a hotel until I’d gone 56 miles! The weather was nice today. In the 70s all day with no drizzle. There was a healthy blanket of fog this morning, but it burned off pretty early.
Here’s the map and photos from today:
Here’s what the fog looked like this morning in Holly Hill. The high rise building is twice as tall as it looks. Daytona Beach. International Speedway Drive.
More Daytona Beach.
Port Orange.
Some Port Orange kayakers.
New Smyrna Beach until otherwise noted. Some Mangroves.
Oak Hill. The route took me inland and I saw a lot of interesting swampy looking flora, no fauna.
Cape Canaveral Memorial Cemetery in Mims.
An old 1891 house in Titusville near where I’m staying.

With miles like the first two days, you’ll be done sooner than you thought, eh? So are you doing a planned ride? I thought you were cruising along the coast roads?
I’m using the Adventure Cycling Association Atlantic coast maps. The majority of the route runs along A1A, but occasionally it veers away from the beach.
Ah, I guess to give you a break from the awful scenic view of the beaches, not…(never seen an awful view of a beach).
