An easy day. A quick (for me) 33 mile ride. I started by heading to Walmart on the off chance they’d have tubes I could use. Surprise, they had exactly what I needed. Bell 70x32c tubes with Presta valves. My patch job on the old tube is still holding, so I’ll just keep the new tubes in reserve. A nice tailwind and sunny skies made the ride pleasant. It did hit 100 degrees on a couple hills though. I was dreading the Texas hill country, but so far, I’m not having a hard time. Once you climb one, the momentum going down the other side helps you at least half way up the next one. As sunny as it was today, tonight we’re having severe thunderstorm warnings. I decided to stay at an older Super 8 motel that is right next door to a nice looking Mexican restaurant. I also like the Super 8’s because they usually have a guest laundry. My clothes are drying as I’m writing this. Here’s the map and a few pictures from today.
Some storefronts in Brenham. Not sure what you buy at this store, but I bet it takes batteries.
Texas hill country.
I take a lot of cow pictures, eh?
Woo.
The sky was pretty all day.
A nice looking old church in Navasota.
Sunny clouds being overtaken by storm clouds.
I start a new set of maps tomorrow. Gotta do some planning tonight.
