I crossed time zones today! I’m now in the central time zone. Yipee! My GPS was unhappy about it though and right at the instant I crossed, it shut down and wouldn’t come back on. I had to do a factory reset on it when I got here to the Lake Seminole Inn. So, I had to use dead reckoning to add the extra miles in. I was planning on camping, but when I saw this motel, I thought I’d stop in and check the price for a room. It was only 10 bucks more than the campground and to me, that’s well worth the AC, real bed and continental breakfast.
Now for the pix:
Here’s Bernard. From South Africa, but now lives in Miami. He’s a bicycle enthusiast and builds his own bikes. He just built one that weighs around 16 pounds! Bernard recently returned from South Africa where he raced in a 70 mile ride. He says he rides around 400 miles a week!
Here’s R.C. He was fishing near Quincy. I was taking a pretzel break and started talking to him. I think he thought I was out to mug him. He stealthily picked up a filet knife as I approached him. Once we started talking, he realized I was just crazy but harmless.
Here’s some houses in Quincy. It looks like a nice place to live. Really quiet and lots of old live oaks with moss draped over them.
Another house with mossy live oaks aplenty.
Wind power for irrigation near Gretna.
This was an old school house in Gretna.
Check out the temperature on the GPS. This was between Gretna and Chattahoochee. 100.4
Huge irrigation system.
Heyoka likes the AC.
