I slacked off today and only rode 39.7 miles. I made it to Oberlin and was eating at the Main St. Cafe when I decided to stay over. I was too full from lunch for dessert and they have home made strawberry pie, so I’m going back this evening. I’m staying at the Oberlin Inn. Tomorrow, I plan on riding to Bunkie. Around 60 or so miles. Here’s the map from today and some pictures.
A cool looking hotspot in DeRidder. This is P.J. from DeRidder. She’s a retired law enforcement officer with the prison system. She passed me and decided to stop and ask me about my trip and see if I needed anything. Nice lady.
Here’s where they’ve clear cut the pines.
A little convenience store near Mittie. They have ice cold water. Filled up my bottles.
The river near here is a tourist attraction for canoers.

Andy just saw the weather and said “hopefully Lee will sit tight a few days… bad storms in his area.” Be careful Uncle Lee.
