Surprise, surprise, surprise

Today was an easy day. I rode 35.5 miles from Wickenburg to Surprise, AZ. I’m staying with a warm showers host couple, Bill and Dana. They live in an RV resort village in Surprise and when they’re not here hosting, they’re on the road cycling and leading their own tours. After fixing me a delicious lasagna and veggie meal, we ate pie and plannedĀ out the next phase of the trip, where I’ll be able to cut out a dreadful climb up to 8000 feet, by following along the Bubba’s Pampered Cyclists tour and then reconnecting to the Adventure Cycling Southern Tier route. I’m hoping to make it to Tempe, AZ tomorrow, which is around 50 miles.
