So, today, I wanted to ride about 40 miles, but I didn’t want to lay out a route. I used the RideWithGPS website to create my map. I knew the general direction I wanted to go and just picked 4 or 5 random points along the way and let the website create the route. It did some odd routing for me, but it was neat to follow along and see where it took me. It had me turn into the Salem Civic Center parking lot and ride around the back by the two stadiums. Then it had me ride up into the Salem YMCA area and instead of having me turn left or right onto the road when exiting the Y, it had me go directly across into the Sherwood Burial Park. It routed me twice to within yards of my sister Laura’s grave site! I took it as a sign she wanted to see me, so I went to visit her. It’s been a few years since I’ve been there and had forgotten she died on June 13. I guess she knew I wouldn’t be up that way soon, so she made sure I came by.
