I rode 34.2 miles Wednesday to Cudjoe Key. I stayed a couple of days with my friends Paul and Debby Clarin. I worked with Paul at The Roanoke Times when he was controller. He’s now the Publisher of the Key West Citizen. We talked late into the night leading to the late posting on Thursday.
Here’s the map from Wednesday ride.

Vaca Key, Marathon
The old highway bridge next to the new one. In a lot of areas, it’s used as a bike trail. You have to be careful though, sometimes it runs along forever and then just ends, requiring a u-turn and backtracking.

A skewer of egrets.
Louie’s gas station. Like most dogs he can’t spell worth a damn, “Looe”. Near the National Key Deer Refuge.
Slav and Yana, cycling all over the place. They rode from Alaska to the East Coast to the Florida Keys and now they’re on their way to California by way of Mexico.
Here’s their flyer and you can click on it to see their facebook page

On the way to see Paul and Debby. All the houses have canals leading to Cudjoe Bay and the Atlantic.
